  • Tools made to fit

Several years ago I bought a large box ot tooling from a loical market.Nearly all of it, inc taps and dies were simply to big for my machines.I was eventually left with a box of odd mills drills etc of enormous size after telling my friends to help them selves of course after I took out the very small stuff I could use.For example a small headed carbide face cutter with an enormous shank I decided to give most of these the file test to see if they could be machined most of them were mild steeel shanks and would be wortha forune to buy new as the cutter heads were so well made I sawed them down to size and turned them on my lathe just about 19mm so thew fit in one of my er 32 collets now I can use them on my milling machine new tools for old or what Alistair

What, in British slang, is a "git"?

I buy taper shank drills at auction and spin the shanks down to 1/2&3/4" straight for use in the mill. For some reason I get better life out of them than the reduced shank S&D drills.

I just need one more tool, just one!
