  • Duct tape rewinder

I'm trying to make a duct tape rewinder for reclaiming used duct tape. I turned a take-up spool out of teflon and an idler out of aluminum but things still get stuck together. Any ideas? Or am I just crazy to even try?

You must really be bored, or just poor.
Hell we all may be reusing stuff soon,if gas prices keep going up.

Are you reclaiming the real duct tape (aluminum) or the "other" stuff? Why not just spool it back onto cardboard like it comes? If it's the good stuff, you need to merge/collate a release paper with it for reuse. If it's just for the aluminum, make the first wrap folded over on itself.

Never re-invent the wheel. Just copy the design for the famous toilet paper rewinder/reclaimer.

A recycling used toilet paper winder might catch on. Especially with all the paper pulp shortages looming ahead.

Owing to the shortage of paper- please use both sides?

You just need to watch the right episode of Red Green to see how to build one.
