    I just ordered a pot from:

    It's coming from California so when it gets in I can figure on the linkage.

    I talked to Kevin at Stumph and they wanted $125 for the pot. Nice guy.

    Hoffman,

    Give the guys at Stumpf Welding a call. Kevin is the guy u need talk to. The miller will not work on that old style lincoln. Stumpfs has a lot of parts and may be able to help you out. 618-566-4733. St. louis area on the IL Side of the river.

    Thanks! I have been following this tread and over at Hobart thread. I have been watching e-bay and searching online for these pedals for 4 years! The closest I ever come is finidng whole machines for sale. These are great welders! I have used and still use these at work an in other people's shops!
    We are getting closer and closer here!!! Exciting,,,isn't it?

    He was VERY helpful and even described the dimensions of the components and the linkage. Here's a scan:

    The pot is inside the little box and is driven by a little rack and pinion setup with the gear on the pot. The linkage sticking out of the "box" has a rack on the bottom. This is how he described it to me as I was looking at this diagram.
    The on/off switch is also in the little box.
    Maybe this can help you out a little bit.

    I also have a tig 300/300 it is a 1964 model when dealing with these machines you need to know the "code #". Mine is 4368-H. Over the years they built many different tig 300/300 models. The code number tells you what generation it is.
    What we need to do is find someone who HAS the pedal for our code model and get them to take it apart and find the scematic so we can see what we need to modify or build our own!

    The Lincoln folks told me it uses a 1000 ohm 12.5 watt pot. now to find one...

    They don't have the pedal but they have the pot for $375

    Have you tried talking to Lincoln yet? Finding the right person who wants to help can sometimes be a challenge, but someone there could probably find the appropriate resistor value. Good luck.

    Man, I can't find anything out about this deal...

    The Miller pedal has a 25 ohm variable resistor. I wish I could find out what the Lincoln uses. There are no values on the wiring diagram.

    You can make your own water cooler. The local tech school where I learned how to TIG weld had all of the machines connected to a regular water supply. A water pipe just went to all of the welding booths and circulated water through all of the torches all the time. You could rig up something easily.

    Little update. I hooked it up and fooled with it some. I only had it hooked up to a 40 A breaker with 10 ga. wire so I was just seeing if it would strike an arc and if the fan worked etc. I don't have a TIG torch so I was fooling with the leads from my stick welder.

    It works on DC with the electrode sticking etc and I put a plug on the arc start cable on the pedal and tried it on AC.

    It will strike an arc without touching the piece and holds it pretty steady. I'm thinking that this means the hi-freq is working.

    It will not weld until the pedal is pushed and when you push it a contactor throws in with a mighty "Thud". I'm guessing that that is in working order as well.

    I'm happy so far

    I sort of jumped the gun and ordered a water cooled torch today so I was worried about it working...

    My old Lincoln has a 3 prong plug for the foot control as well as a 2 prong plug for the start/stop. I have a Miller pedal that has a 4 prong plug in as well as a 2 prong plug in. Neither will plug into the welder.

    Am I in the ballpark or will this pedal not work with my welder.

    This is all new to me

    Fixin' to go fire it up and see if it'll stick weld...
