  • Shop tip

The other day I had a customer come to the shop, he had been trying to do a port and polish on his aluminum heads. After a few minutes of cutting, his burr was a solid mass of aluminum. This may be old hat to alot of you but some of the new guys may not have heard of it. When you need to grind aluminum or cut it with a high speed burr. Load the wheel up with parifin wax and it will help keep the aluminum from loading and gumming up your stone.

What little I've done has worked well, as long as I use an Aluminum burr...use a steel type burr and they load up RIGHT NOW
