    I love them old radial drills. TVA still has a few.

    You run them in reverse, leave the ways loose bring it down in your pilot hole and it centers itself. Hold pressure on it, lock ways and drill forward. A 3 ton drill can not be compared with a modern drill press.

    Rosie.. yeah.. anybody who can run machinery like that deserves respect. Women had a active part in WW2..

      Wouldn't that be Dorothy the Driller?

      I had a half dozen great female apprentices work for me over the years. Most went on to distinguished careers on the machines, the bench, and later as planners and supervisors.
