  • Belt Question

I am thinking of replacing the belts on my jet lathe with some of the power twist belts. My question is simple, which ones do I order? I am no belt expert and don't know how to decipher the belt numbers. The numbers on the two belts are 22-325 and 22-345 and they measure 5/8 wide at the top. I have a local grainger company and found these on their website. The grainger item number is 5A548. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I use the Power Twist Plus belts after Ian B. from Holland told me to try them and I have been very pleased with the way they work for me on my 1939 12' Craftsman lathe.

Call Grainger and tell them what size pully and approx. length you need and I'm sure they will be able to help.

    Good luck.

Look on page 942 of the online McMaster-Carr catalog:
      http://www.mcmaster.com/

Type "942" or "twist belting" in the find box at the top left.

That's where I got one for my JET lathe. Works great, too!!
