  • how to identify and free up fairmont railway engine

    I have a stuck fairmont railway engine. I have no identification numbers and have struck out trying to identify the model. It has 2 flywheels and the radiator sits on top of the cylinder. Any help will be appreciated. Paul

    Somebody at Harry's Engine page might be able to help you;

    Those are neat engines, reverse by cranking the distributor around.

        JC is correct, Harry's "smokestak" board is a good place to start. Do a search for Fairmont and you will find a few threads on this engine. Remember this is a 2 cycle engine and some were designed to run in either direction.
