  • Another .6 crusader question.

The drawing for the cylinder head calls for a 1/4-28 thread and the text says that the hole is tapped 1/4-32. Which is the right tap?

The way my luck runs I think I know which is the right thread. The one that I did not use.

The standard thread for a Gloplug is 1/4-32, so that is what I used. I hope that is correct as making a new head would be a pain.

I said that I would do it assbackwards. A new head is in the works now. I have never had an engine that used glowplugs so did not have a clue.

Don't throw out the head just yet, you can fix it with a Keen-sert, they are a solid sleeve insert.

Where would you start looking for one of the inserts? At a hobby store that would sell this type of engine?

I doubt there are inserts for glow plugs available, but it would not be difficult to make one 5/16" X something OD X 1/4"-32 ID.

I did this to correct a similar problem.
