  • Hydraulic Book Recommendations

    Hello Fellas,

Was looking for recommendations for a very detailed reference power hydraulic book. Do any of you have any recommendations? Was looking for a detailed reference, detailed explaination of components, maybe some engineering stuff, troubleshooting about power hydraulics, system approach and alot of real world examples.

    I know alot to ask!

Have you checked with local trade schools? How about local Hydraulics distributors - the ones around here sell reference materials related to their field. Other sources:

    http://www.asminternational.org/
    http://www.lindsaybks.com/
http://www.thomasregister.com/ (do a search for Hydraulics)
    http://www.barnesandnoble.com/

ASM International is the motherlode for metalworking books - technical/engineering level. Not cheap by any stretch of imagination.

      Thanks Thrud,

But I already did search those. Wanted some inside info on, if some1 has already been there and what they would recommend.

Contact parker Hannefin and ask to get into their training program. Won't be cheap but it will be an education.

Call SURPLUS CENTER at 1-800-488-3407 and get a free catalog. They have four hydraulic study course books. They cost 29.95 each. Probably worth it. I bought my hydraulics books from Lindsay Publications several years ago. They were published by VICKERS INC. in 1985. Vickers is in Troy, Michigan. Hope this helps.
