      CBN lapidary blade thin say 0.010-0.013 inches, similar blade used for cutting petrographic thin sections for constituent mineral identification.

        I worked in support of scientific investigation for 42 years. One of the groups I worked with was the world leader in investigation of the chemistry of extra-terrestrial matter including meteorites. The pict below is the unit they used to cut meteorites and moon rock. You will note that the bottom of the diamond saw is in a bath of water to keep it cool.
