  • Clearpath servos....and Acorn

I've been planning a Centroid Acorn CNC upgrade for a couple years, never quite got around to it.

Now I see the Clearpath servos are available to take step and direction signals. Anybody have experience or knowledge of them?

Looks like prices will be under $300 per motor for my small mill. I already have brand new steppers and drives (auction purchase) , but if the Clearpath are as good as it sounds I don't mind another $1200 for a full 4th axis system.

On edit: BTW, I want to use Centroid rather LinuxCNC since I already have a large mill with Centroid and like it.

Can't afford them myself but they've been out & in use for a few years (at least) with very good reviews on the Acorn forum. https://centroidcncforum.com/viewforum.php?f=20
