You probably know that a googol, if written out, is "1" followed by a hundred zeroes. A googol is vastly larger than the number of elementary particles in the universe.
If you could load this gearing for zero backlash, this might have use in a physics experiment involving light (or gravity waves ). Shifting a mirror by a zeptometer would be duck soup.
