I scored a small Sanford surface grinder yesterday and it of course will need a rebuild. It came with an Enco mag chuck that would not work so I disassembled it. Besides 50 year old grease and rust I got it all cleaned up but now wondering what type of grease I should use. Had some old brown goo in there which kinda looks like old axle grease. This chuck was made in Japan. Has a plug on the bottom with '12 oil' stamped on it and found some Oil 12 online but that is Japanese compressor oil. I assume that you put a few drops of oil in there every now and again to keep the grease from drying out. What say yall? Thanks!
