  • O. T. What are you listening to ?

I like to listen to music as I work and thought it might be good to share what I listen to and to hear what others are.

        You're doing it wrong.

Adblock Plus, no BS commercials...period! Only the content you requested, nothing more. Just checked and it has blocked 22,903 ads since I installed it last week. LOL
Okay maybe a little longer than that but zero ads.

I have been using Ghostery as an ad blocker, and it works on YouTube. I listen to Music Choice on my FIOS connection. Right now it's "Classic Rock", but sometimes I choose "Golden Oldies", "70s", "Classic Country", "Blues", or "Classical".

Just put on the radio myself, though if I am really focused I prefer quiet.

To answer the question, I don't listen to music at the computer because I am normally working. Right now I am listening to the security camera NAS banging away because it's really windy outside.

I have a stereo in the shop/shack/garage but usually only have it on if I am doing something mindless and repetitive. If I am measuring and cutting or troubleshooting I prefer silence. I do usually monitor the local VHF/UHF repeaters and sometimes fire and rescue. I have Sirius in the cars for long trips.

Some of what I've been listening to lately I can't post. These are original songs being developed in a recording studio, in which I play a small part. Last week I was privy to spend the day in another studio, in which a remake of a popular song was being done. Much of what I've been listening to is for the sake of learning what works and what doesn't- songs that were hits but nobody would have thought it, and songs that you'd think would have been bigger hits, but weren't. In this regard, I've been spending a lot of time in the 50s.

Here's one with some cool elements in it- https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...0hHlpRyHpMbSHm

I love to start my Saturdays at the bagel shop. Not since this covid thing, been staying home,
I don't listen to news, it is all a lie. I do listen to the local NPR stations, not for the news.
They say they are not biased, but they totally slant things to one political agenda.
So I block that out and just listen to the radio programs. I used to love Car Talk because it was funny,
I used to listen to Prairie Home, until Garrison Keller got fired for touching too much at work.
I tend not to listen to music. I grew up in Buffalo NY, which on the radio is classic rock all the time.
I am totally burned out on music, as my brain remembers everything. And I used to have music
playing on endless loop in my head. It was really making me (more) crazy. I had to stop listening
to music. I used to listen to Bruce Springsteen. He is a bad singer. But his words are kinda optomistic
and speak to a more ideal life in America. Wishful thinking perhaps. Can't wait to go back to the bagel
shop again, even though I eat outside because they play shlt ass corporate women's music, and really loud.
"Ya hada bad day,,,, ba da ba ba....do da de dow.. Ya just wanna die, 'cause your boyfriend turned gay..."
Oh spare me. Really please... Menstrual cycle music. Is it just me that hates what society has become?
