  • Clausing 8520 Mill dial lock problem, Anyone else experiecne this ?

I own a Clausing 8520 mill. Bought it used a while back. I really enjoy it. BUT . . . The one thing I have yet to figure out is how to lock the wheel to the crank to measure the X and Y axis table travel. I have the manual and everything appears to be just where it should be. However. Even after twisting the knurled wheel as tight as I can get it with thumb and fore finger it does not stay "Attached " to the crank handle. Anyone else ever have this issue ? Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

      Do they have the washers?

Those may be required to push the dials sufficiently.

Looking at the parts list linked above the washers (932-043) may be missing or are of the wrong type.
My guess is that the washers are most likely some sort of Belleville type washers, the tension of the compressed cone keeping the dial from slipping relative to the hand crank/screw shaft.
