What is the right name for these

    Tab lockwasher in HVAC. Used them to secure impellers to shaft. Bellvile washer lock washer and bearing nut. Torque to spec and bend tab into slot. Serves same purpose as tie wire in aircraft. If something came loose from vibration it would cause major economic damage.

      After you get the lock nut tight, you don't need to bend over all the tabs. Only one will do the job.

        On a nut with 4 slots, only 1 tab will allign with a slot anyway

            OK here's the cheating way to do the job. Fit the washer the other way round if that can be achieved without risking breaking the inner tab. A thin washer/shim between the nut and the lock washer will result in the nut being at a different angle when it is tensioned and therefore having another chance of being in line with the outer tabs.
            Personally, I would just bite the bullet and make a new one out of the thin non magnetic stainless steel, it is the most ductile ferrous metal I know of.
