When I mentioned diamond drills, I was referring to the monolith in the book (the one found on the moon). I'd think an average set of HSS drills would happily perforate this one...

It always amazes me how a cheap fabrication made from either stainless steel or aluminium and held together with pop rivets can morph into an alien artifact which defies drilling with a diamond drill. Anytime soon somebody will be prooving that astronauts never stood on the moon.

Now you are gonna have to prove the moon exists, and is not painted on the sky just like the stars are...... and that the earth is not flat, and covid exists, etc, etc, etc. 🙄😶
