I'm going to be a first officer on the 777, just waiting for a phone call to finish it up. In aviation you are held to another individuals judgement. When you fly with the two hardest check airman to please and they give you a blessing to finish up, you feel pretty damn confident in your abilities. I was 99.999% finished and I dicked up the landing on the line check which was the only time I ever dicked up a landing. I had to fly three more legs with a different check airman to fix any issues. He obviously didn't agree with the two very senior check airman at the company, and the failure to receive his blessing gave me a 2nd strike, even though my landings were good, he found other issues he didn't like. So any more unfortunate events the union cannot do anything, the company can do what ever they want.
I was told they are very busy with other people so I will wait for a phone call to finish up, I am not going to pester them. This could mean a few months at home, or I go finish up in a few days. Well, probably not in a few days as my right leg is swollen and I am walking with a severe limp.
An aviation career is very much like walking across a mine field, I stepped on a land mine with this. Why I rarely suggest to others to do this career, why I want other sources of income.

You of course know that Oil Dry and similar absorbents can be used until fully saturated. Just sweep it up and dump it in a bucket to be reused until saturated.

    I assume your 10EE is a motor-generator set type?

Because the WIAD ones only use two wires from the 3 phase.... work fine on single phase.
Yes, a 1941 motor/generator for the US Navy. Wish I knew what ship.

Nope, that fall does not offset the "You Suck" comments. Takes a very loyal forum member to admit here about a fall like that. Lumps and bumps like that are always worse the next day, been there too many times. Hope you heal up quick !

To offset the "You Suck" comments, I took a nasty fall today in the shop. Banged up my knees, elbows, and left rib cage. Not sure if I'll be able to walk in the morning. I was clearing up the space for the grinder, had just vacumned up the absorbent stuff you clean up oil spills with from an old spill. I was then carrying jugs of used oil and tripped, spilling oil all over the area I had just cleaned up. The wife put down new absorbent material in the same area.
You cannot make this crap up.

Less than a grand for it, and coming from a state university so it probably doesn't have squat for time on it.............Yeah, between that and the 10EE you're going to get the much deserved "you suck"!

Multiple round belt drive was a common feature on the Knock Out surface grinders.
    I'm sure you knew that.

vfd makes a lot of sense on a grinder, the soft start and stop is a huge advantage. We all know there is a bit of clearance between wheel and spindle and the imbalance that creates goes away after dressing....but without soft start stop the wheel can be jerked out of position meaning its got to be dressed every time you turn it on. Dressing a lot is a good thing, but with some intermittent jobs it can be an unnecessary pita the softy start stop fixes
