  • Opinions on C'List mag chuck

Good mornings gentleman. I came across this today and was wondering if it was worth owning.
    Thanks

A magnetic chuck from a surface grinder. Works but needs cleaning; it has surface rust from sitting around. Price $100 OBO.

If it works it'll probably be OK but you never know.

It looks like it was rode hard and put away wet !

Is it the right size for your surface grinder. If so, I’d jump on it. Pretty easy to clean up the rust on the top surface.

This one would be easy to clean and free shipping.

The cheapest power supply I’ve seen new is Chinese or Indian at $380. Better ones are $450+. I’d buy it just for that.

Being able to adjust the power on a magnetic chuck is a nice feature. If you want to take a chance on it working, then go for it. Wouldn't worry too much about the rust. It's going to need cleaning up when mounted anyway. That should take care of most of the rust.

Don't buy it and you will see another 10 or 15 years go by before you see another at that price..if ever at all...

Delay a little more and the decision will be made for you.
