Oh boy! That brings back memories. Model trains were one of my first passions. In fact, that probably was what got me started in machining with the purchase of a Unimat. I haven't had time for that hobby since my college days, but I have a large den so perhaps some day .........Paul A.

And if you look REAL close at an analog signal,
You will find that it has discrete steps.

That's a great one. Well worth a trip half way around the world to see. Unfortunately my one and only HO layout was significantly smaller. My dad was an accountant and in addition to a 9-to-5, he did work at home for a few extra dollars. He built an office in our garage but found it uncomfortable to work in so he used the dining room table. That office room was available and I built there. But it was just a small room.

This past weekend I took a road trip to Salem and Peabody, MA with my good friend Karl to see the F&SM model RR for the first time (first time for me, that is).
is a bit closer to home (though still far from Texas) and not as large as Miniatur Wunderland.
I like it because it's the only one I've ever seen that has a depressed, gritty, depression-era theme. The guy is a master at miniature set building.

Rod Stewart, of Rock 'n Roll fame, is a big model railroading enthusiast. He has built quite an elaborate layout, though not as extensive as that one in Germany.
