On my turret lathe i kept parting tool on front of cross slide. On the rear i mounted bevelling or radius end tools mostly. It had stops for rear tool infeed depth, very handy .. worth building in if you can.

Hmmmm.... my text disappeared......
Basically, it was mentioning to watch out for the "double negative" that puts you back where you started.... reverse how many things?
Upsy down on back is exactly the same topologically as right side up on front, and cuts the same thread for the same carriage movement. (and vise-versa).
