  • O-rings

This just popped up on my YouTube suggestions. It's a pretty nice primer on o-rings. Many other useful videos on that channel, too. Sometimes the algorithm gives me a winner.

I design and make o-ring seals at work and have for 20 years or more so I was skeptical at first. This video however is an excellent primer. I need to send it to some mech eng students I know. The other must have is the Parker O-ring handbook. Note, if you are designing O-ring seals, use the formulas in the Parker book, NOT their calculator. The calculator works but somethines has returned results that are not ideal. Thanks for posting this!

I often use this calculator from Eriks, it's very useful in that you get a range for compression, stretch and gap fill based on the tolerances and material.
