Can I fix the counterbores in the top jaws of the lathe chuck? They are hard!!!

    Thank you for a lot of good advices. I am going to try using a 3/8" 4 flute end mill and go around a counterbore as Edwin suggested. This way there is less chance for a chatter. Yes, bad counterbores work, but they damage the screws and the jaws are not held securely. It isn't the end of the world, but this is my chuck and I want to make it better. Top jaws have a good fit to the master ones and there is no other problems except the counterbores.
