If you decide to use the braided wick, it would be easier to install if there was a wire inserted in it with a pigs tail at the ends. Each length could be custom made to fit the holes exactly. The stainless steel locking wire is very ductile and would be ideal.

Tobias-B I have never gotten under a load. I don't even like to reach under them. But you do with what you got. The straps stopped damage to the saddle and the chain was on the the engine hoist.
Old Mart. I have wire already though all of the passages. My thought was to just pull them though. But now you have me thinking about adding wire.

US Patent 2,884,838 assigned to Kearny and Trecker describes treating felt or "waste" with silicones to make them repel water. That means that splashes from aqueous cutting fluids will not be drawn into the lubricating system.
