Well was working on my Old Bridgeport Mill and the readout kept getting dimmer and dimmer, finally nothing. I checked all the wires and all was OK. Is they're anyone around that can repair these units? I bought it brand new 20 years ago for $1400 dollars. Shame not try to repair it. Thankyou

Would like to give a DRO Follow Up. The initial issue was very Dim and when switching from Metric To Imperial on the front Located Switch, suddenly for a millisecond the Readout was very Bright. Well after dinking around with it Found out it was the capacitors and now actually working Again. Glad I didnt buy a new One. Its working like it did when I bought it. I hope this Information helps someone out one day.

Yeah, about 20 years ago there was a whole lot of electrolytic capacitors in all sorts of electronics that were doomed from the factories. I think production lasted for like 10 years and even had a name - "capacitor plague". I believe it was a problem with the chemistry of the electrolyte. The tops of the caps would bulge out. Samsung got hit real hard by this.
Glad you got it sorted out.
