What is the tempering process you use?
I've found that a few layers of shrink sleeve makes for a good handle FWIW. What did you put on yours?

I tempered them in a heat treat oven to what hopefully should be around mid-to-high 40's Rc. Didn't check it, but they are very springy and bend before breaking. I've taken a few of them down to .010" thick, the rest are between . 015" and .020" - the pictured tension wrenches are also made from banding and tempered to the same level. For the handles I tried 2 different materials. One was the Plasti-Dip stuff, the other Flex-Seal. They're both decent but they are kind of time consuming, had to do several coats.
