OT . Looks like new software for placing pictures in our posts

I just uploaded some pictures in the Post Titled better than Eureka and the process has changed a bit
The pictures are now much smaller in the post and you have to click on them to enlarge, but they are not as large as before.

Apparently one has to be logged in to see larger photos. My login had "evaporated" and I saw little pictures but they got larger after I renewed my login.

Try "Upload Attachments" and then insert into post using "large" or "full size".


I don't know why the partial image of a rolled-up rug is there.

Paul, Originally when you posted a picture, you downloaded the pic and could select the size you wanted.
This time, no size was offered, it came in AND ( another change !) , It asked for the wording to be placed with the picture
we didn't have that before

Well, you see, these companies who sell software (computer programs) have a back room filled with computer geeks (programmers). And these computer geeks are always nervous about their job security.

So ooooo, they look for ways to justify their existence (their pay checks). They continuously look for newer and better ways to do things, even when those things are working just fine already. And guess what. They actually find these new ways. Lucky us.

Worse yet, there is a head geek. And he/she is the least secure of them all because there is a room full of lesser geeks who want that job. And he/she is the one who tells that room full of geeks what they should be trying to change. Not only are they already looking for ways to change things, but they are being told to make even more changes.

And on top of all that, these bottom layer of computer geeks who just work on the program you are using is at the mercy of every layer above them, AT OTHER COMPANIES, like Microsoft and Apple and many more.

You can make all the excuses or find all the other causes you can dig up, but at the bottom of it all is simple job insecurity.

Amen and agreed. Particularly when they are told that they are competing with some guy on the other side of the world for a pittance. Which is *very* common these days, I've been through that myself.

Geeks are like auto engineers. They never work on the stuff they design and have little or no regard for the "dumb user". Change is inevitable but not always progress. I'm a big fan of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." And I are a geek, patriarch to a family of geeks. Seen from the inside there is truth in what Paul says.

I didn’t make the post with it but when I tried to put in a pic the same thing happened. Just select the photo, then add words if wanted.

On edit, I think I need to play around with posting pictures some more. Being on a mobil phone may not be helping.

Rich, your photos in your Eureka thread are small size. And if you are seeing where you can add text, you are NOT clicking on "Upload Attachments" as I have always done. Here is your screen shot, which I clicked on, then right-click, "Save Image As" to my computer, then used "Upload Attachments", and inserted it "Full Size":
