kant twist clamp article

I've been trying to locate a construction article about the kant twist type clamps. I can't remember if it was in HSM or MW. I haven't been able to find anything using the search features available on HSM's website. Maybe it's just me, but I do wonder if this feature works for anybody?

I've been tempted to make a set of drawings and have a water jet shop cut a bunch out, but haven't done it yet.

I did a set of construction pictures and drawings some years ago while I was at the high school and have sent them to half a doz on various forums but haven't heard back that anyone has actually built any.. I made the first ones about 4" then I scaled down and build a bunch of 2" ones. I have a file that can be sent via "Wetransfer", at least it worked sometime in the past. If anyone is interested I can try it again. I'll see if I can post a few pix or a link to some .

I don't <know> when, or in which magazine, it was first published, but Metalworking, Book Three has such a project by a Bob Patrick, "A great Little Clamp."

...one of those (many) projects I intended to do, but never did.

Kinda funny Tim? I thought you had a post way back when, the other Kant-Twist clamp thread. Gettin old. haha

Those clamps are nice. They are not "ALL" that though, From a welders point of view.

I tried, really gave them the benefit. They are difficult to get clamped up, the feet suck. I also have the welding type, better feet.

I dont know, they just are not my first grab while in the shop and needing a clamp. JR

Yeah ... the feet have to be exactly opposite each other & in doing that it's easy to shift the part that you're trying to clamp. But when lined up, they do clamp tight.
