  • E Bay & Amazon

Has anyone bought anything off e bay only to find out the item was shipped from Amazon and that same item purchased through Amazon was half price ? This seems to be the going trend now with sellers on e bay.
If so what did you do ? This isn't the first time I've head about this.
I've read that drop shipping from Amazon or any other retailer is not permitted on E bay.

When this happens I whine on a small internet forum unrelated to E-Commerce (-:

Try whining on twitter.com, it is more likely there are members of E-Bay upper management that use it rather than searching HSM for global market trends.

    Your mileage may vary.

Basically all Amazon is: is a third party broker about the same as Ebay. You can buy all most anything on Amazon that you can buy from any other online seller. I have Amazon's Unlimited that costs $99 a year and it pays for most all the shipping on the majority of their items. I always look at Amazon first for any Item I want to buy on line and usually get the item in just a few days. Hell you cay even buy most of the Kirkland brands that Costco sells.

The lesson is to also check Amazon when online buying, Also the advantage of free returns for whatever reason,
I always get free shipping by waiting another day!!
And often it is delivered two days ahead anyway!
I now only use Ebay as a last resort.

              Didn't happen to me........as I said, I'm inquiring.

I've never bought from Amazon and my e bay purchases are extremely limited to hard to find older machine parts or older machinist tools.

I have never had to paid for shipping from Amazon and I don't have Prime or any other discount system. If the item/s are more then $35 they usually ship for free and that even covers times when multiple items are not sent at a single shipment.

You'll find the free shipping is hidden in the cost of the item.

I've never done that but I have bought an item from one store and drove to another only to find it for less. You don't need the internet to pay to much for an item.

What peeved me was that the Amazon delivery guy just tossed the item over the gate in the rain. Only found it in time 'cos I happened to go out. The normal ebay deliveries are by a friendly guy I can chat to about gardening. What I did was leave negative feedback.

Yup. There are some sellers who use their Prime free shipping to have items delivered to their customers and they pocket the shipping charge. They can't be making much for the trouble.

Appears that this has happened to me as well, eventually tracked down the guy I bought it from on Ebay and checked his other stuff he was selling on Ebay. Turns out that this arse wipe puts stuff on Ebay that he GETS from elsewhere, once he has an order from a sucker, charges a bit more for his effort and lets the likes of Amazon do all the hard work for him. So --- you have been 'scammed' by an arse wipe as well. Nice feeling isn't it, eh ? :-)

100% of the time it has been the opposite in my experience. Amazon sellers drop ship from ebay or other vendors quite often and there is usually a huge markup

Check out your local auto parts store. Turns out they sell things they get from somewhere else and sell it with quite a good markup.

It's your responsibility to check that you aren't paying double for what you want. If you just buy it, don't blame the seller for what they do.
