  • M3 X .6 Socket head cap screws

    Are these going to be hard to find. I had to drill and tap a few new holes for a lathe mod and didn't realise I was using a .6 pitch tap until too late.

      Sorry bout that.
      Had the problem myself on some purchased accessories made in "old franco" influenced SE asian sources.

      Some of the old metric standard stuff has become sort of obsolete.

      If you look for screw suppliers catering to those locations you may find the .6.

      Otherwise, and what I did was to go up in size and retap.
      You could put in a helicoil tap while holding your mouth right. ( and the helicoil of course)

        All fixed. Used 4mm screws and turned down the heads to fit original counterbored holes. Just needed to enlarge the clearance holes to 4mm and retap the lathe bed.
