Does not matter - it's there for a reason emergency or not - all's my statement was that the tool in the vid is superior to most that are supplied with cars - and im a master tech who designs and builds allot of his own shop tools so what you have to do with that is listen to what I stated and then try to learn the finer details of why I stated that, I wrote the finer details if your into learning - if not then quit making erroneous judgement calls...

When removing lug nuts, you use an impact wrench.....most mechanics will also use the impact to tighten them and torque to final spec. manually.
Never said the factory tool was a good one, just seldom if ever used by many.

The lug wrench included with vehicle if for occasional (emergency) use only. How many car owner never change a flat because they call their auto road service and the lug wrench remains unused for the life of the vehicle?

I would take the "wrench" in the vid over most car lug tools --- they got nothing to counter the forces from having to have clearance for the handle - they just take off on like a 30 degree offset right from the hex, nothing you can put your hand on to counter the off-set like you could with the Pakistani tool,

the results can very well be broken lugs or butchers hex drives... talk about crap tools they are the bottom of the barrel...

oh and even though they are outsourcing guess what? their "lifetime tools" are not lifetime anymore - well, they were when I bought mine but they bailed on the commitment --- snap on sucks....

I don't think so. These are definitely below even HF grade. The first thing anybody would do in an industrial environment is put a pipe on the handle of that thing and twist the end right off. No use to anyone IMO.

Now you know when you buy something like that why it's got all those little "beat to crap" marks on it lol

Can't knock the workers ---- again a lesson in efficiency and hard work...

Still - levels of refinement that would barely cost a dime and speed things up for the workers and just make it plain better both for them and the end product,

like the guy putting in the detent ball, have the "anvil plate" at least on some kinda table and held in so it can't move around and does not have to be re-adjusted all the time, ball end mill a channel for the round tool to sit in so the square end is on a flat surface and weld a stop for it --- that way the damn thing wont rock when you hit it, will also keep the striking tool 90 degree's in relation to the "wrench" and even speed up the job for the "small child"...

Now I know why those detent ball keeper marks are so freakin out of wack on that cheap stuff...

the above mentioned would benefit everything including production --- does not even take a "walk through" just takes looking at the vid - that's just one out of many many things I seen that could be drastically improved upon and would cost next to nothing and save tons of effort and increase production and make for a better part,

that's what's really sad about stuff like this, hard working people - and efficient for the job their given - just no supervision in "set up and production tactics"

yet the parts will keep coming - and day after day they muddle through it all, basically forced to do things the wrong way...

Can you imagine the look on the guys face if you gave him the simple things I just described? it would change his life!!!
heck he might even feel like someone gives a crap about him a little,,, and then there's india and china,

Everybody needs to watch stuff like this once in awhile - it makes you realize where the unions sprouted up from, of course - where im from they are like kudzu now,,, they put a strangle hold on companies until they go under....

HarborFreight. I try to buy the nicest tool I can afford but I also shop at HF when I need "good enough."
Really not a whole lot different than manufacturing in the US 100 years ago: low wage and hazardous to your health. Or 50 years ago when my dad stood on the Ford assembly line in Cleveland torquing intake manifold bolts on 302 engines and some of my high school buddies where working in the steel mills. Of course by then workers were demanding higher wages and some reasonable safety, and manufacturing was looking for cheaper labor. Same old story.
