I don't know, but I have a couple sitting on a box next to my mill. Took me a while to figure out what they even were!

I've got a few at work for our Hardinge turret lathes, but we don't use them very often since adding a couple 5/16 geometric heads.
I just need one more tool, just one!

I think those does we're commonly used on the old screw machines.

Yes. There were releasing and non-releasing versions of a holder for Acorn dies in the B&S catalog I have of turret tooling.
CNC machines only go through the motions.

Not responsible for clerical errors. Or those made by lay people either.
Number formats and units may be chosen at random depending on what day it is.
I reserve the right to use a number system with any integer base without prior notice.
Generalizations are understood to be "often" true, but not true in every case.

They're okay. They'll do a far better job than the little button dies that aren't good for much except cleaning up damaged threads.

A big issue with these type threading dies is they require a spindle reversal.

Agree on the reversal issue. Releasing types are a lot easier to deal with.

I bet, if anyone notices, that you will get pushback on the idea that button dies (the standard threading die) are worthless except for cleaning threads.........

I wonder if they made nice clean threads with no burrs!
