Saw this online not me either

Not my machine (thankfully). I was at the machine right behind it. 10" diameter x 14" solid steel bar slipped out of the tail stock (bad bearings) at 2200rpms. The set-up guy was leaning on the glass roping in his tools when it happened. He's OK aside from a goose egg, some glass in his arm and a tightened sphincter muscle. Those bars behind the glass saved his life. Double check your steps!

A fellow I was acquainted with some 30 years back lost his entire lower jaw to a "constant surface speed" programing error. the program was not written for a chucking application. The machine thew a chuck jaw and caught him square. Take Care. Stand back.
