Toggle switch housing for electric motors?

Do asthetics matter in your application? You can buy a low profile box from your local Big Box and attach it to the peckerhead or other convenient spot.
That's what I did for this Delta grinder to replace a clunky controller the previous owner bolted to one of the legs

I would use that if I could, but these motors are 48 frame resilient mount motors, so the wiring connection happens under a Kidney shaped sheetmetal cover on the end of the motor. There isn't much room there for a 2x4 formed box. Plus this is a prototype for a tool I may bring back from extinction, so it would be nice to have the switch setup I'm looking for, because it was intended to give the mfg a clean design.

I have to agree, I am not a complete cheap f&@k but the prices I’ve seen in this thread seem a little ridiculous for a sheet metal box and toggle switch

FWIW, years ago I did by an exhaust fan from global industrial and it was a very decent price at the time.

Interesting that GE has the same kit in their catalog, even the same part number, but at half the list price. I wonder who the vendor might be?

Sure just make your own stamping dies, buy a suitably sized OBI press. Done!

Some sheet metal, cut to appropriate size, tig together, drill for screw mount tabs...done.

After you buy from globalindustrial they will send you spam emails forever. That price must have been set by Barrabas himself. Although most of it is for the UL approved motor rated switch.

I am in the make it camp. How hard can it be?

I realize this would not be quite as tidy but would it be an option to use something like this possibly riveted to the end cover?

Check Grainger or McMaster Carr.

I had been buying them from Grainger, but looking today it seems they are no longer available.

I know what you're looking for but other than a couple of the local electric motor rebuild shops I wouldn't know of a source for them.
Have you tried those?

Sadly the only small motor shop in the area closed down last year.
