I had watched the video this screenshot is from before you made this post and thought what he was getting for lines was more than reasonable for a 4’x8’ sign, probably much smaller as well.

Without seeing what your current signs are like, if the airbrush works out, how far on programming do you plan on going with height and paint flow control to get different effects like what was in that vid?

I have an Arduino dedicated to the control of the airbrush, initially it will control paint quantity (needle) only. This Arduino will have a manual input so that I can 'tune' for best paint quantity.

Paint ON/OFF will be controlled by Z axis.

Air control will be manual.

I need a method for the airbrush Arduino to eavesdrop on the GCode stream to the GRBL Arduino, there are a few ideas but yet to be tested.

You could take a baby lamb, dip in paint, Zip tie to the Z axis and have at it. Or a trained monkey. Poke him with a stick when it is time to dip the brush again until he gets the hang of it.

Tell me what you need for the air end of your project. I have lots of plastic air hose, fittings, 12/24volt valves, etc.,etc.. I'll send it to you. This is all top quality from Festo here in Germany. Although I still think a monkey would work fine.

Thanks for the kind offer but today I found a coffee dispensing machine that is waiting to find its way to my workshop!
