Apparently you didn't get the memo........

              • I've just ran out of gas this past two weeks. I'm going thru some changes in medications I take and it is knocking hell out of me. I'm waiting for some tooling I have on order, that should have been here this week, and was delayed somehow. I have built three or four engines this past winter, and although it has given me something to do thru the long winter days, I'm looking foreword to finishing this engine and then staying out of the shop for a few months.---Brian

Was it the hydroxychloroquine you were planning to pick up next time you were in Japan?

Hong Kong is where you could buy any prescription drug over the counter. Japan is very much like the USA in regards to that. I take it you don't travel the world much?

I have not been to Asia. I have no tolerance for bad toilet facilities.

Japan has Western toilet facilities, if anything they think Westerners are not the clean ones. Hong Kong also does not have squatting toilets but the outlaying islands do. I'd say about 90% of Asia that I fly into have proper facilities, and 100% of the hotels have a proper toilet.
Hong Kong as I knew it however is dead, Communist China has taken over, has forcibly closed many of the shops and brought in mainlanders to run things.

Hong Kong "was" ok. As soon as you got across the border to Shenzen, that changed, and all I saw was the hole in the floor. It's been a few years, but I doubt a lot has changed in existing areas. New construction? no idea.

Italy and the then Jugoslavia had the hole in the floor in many areas some decades ago, no idea if that has changed, so it's not just "asia".

A month ago, I did too. Blood test showed my iron level was well below the recommended range -- in fact it was half of the minimum acceptable level. "You have iron deficiency anemia," my doctor told me. He referred my for a colonoscopy to see if there was internal bleeding. Fortunately, I'd been in to see his nurse practitioner a few days earlier (for a different problem). She had seen those test results, and recommended Floradix, a tonic concocted from natural ingredients (including spinach). One week on that stuff boosted my iron back to normal. I canceled the colonoscopy!
