    Long time ago, we were dicussing this. The defunct link I provided has now been resurrected, and provides pictures of about a million vintage & contemporary fly, CP, Offshore and casting reels.

    Hello Rob Thanx for the info. I have some new Ideas for another bunch of Fishing Reels now.What do you think would be the best type of Clicker/ Drag system? I mean easy to make. Any Ideas? Audrey

      Sure...The simpler, the better. Are we still into a 30-lb class trolling reel? An absolute masterpiece of simplicity is the ABU 30 reel of the mid-1970's, if you know it. Easily findable at the PTO if you don't.

      It is relatively easily imitatable, and not dimensionally fixed...You can increase or decrease size to suit. It also leaves lots of room for your own ideas.

      It's a lever-drag, by the way, of the simplest kind.
