I've been happy with a Fuerda Gator PA3-5A chuck. It's a 5" run-tru chuck on a 5C mount. Made in China, but looks similar in finish to the Bison I bought back when they were much cheaper.

I have most of them talked about. Buck, PB, Bison and so on in scroll chucks for the lathe in six inch mostly.. Six jaw and three. When I am thinking precision I usually go to the four jaw independent or a collet.. But yeah, I like all the chucks I mentioned, use them on three diff lathes..

My best one though?? SCA by far. I only use it on my 10ee due to the speed (RPM) considerations. Its a very nice chuck and frankly surpasses all the other fine chucks I have.. Oh, and very in-expensive. Get one if you find one. JR

JR, you must have been very lucky to find a source of inexpensive Swedish chucks.

Hahaaa. Naw, that was a joke. All my other chucks were used when I bought them. Best thing to do IMO.. This is the only one I bought new. So yeah, I forget what I paid but it was less than the lathe JR
