    Wife bought me a slide rule a few years ago for my birthday. I didn't really give it a chance to figure it out, but might have another go at it.

      Start by dredging up some of your high school math and using it to explain to yourself how the calibrations on the C and D scales were determined.

      Here's a hint...

      x = y * z

      log x = log y + log z

        you mean, see how bad Microsoft's math is???

        I still have a TI55-III from high school...
        haven't retired it yet.
