Yes Sir. I missed that word, dual, my bust. I thought it was flux core which is great by the way. Arent all tall structures welded with flux core now vs rod? I dont know.

I have heard of the dual process. Makes scense I guess, more protected zone, more heat can be applied.

Why not just burn a solid with just as much gas use. Maybe a lil more gas. I hate welding with flux core.

Yep the real big contractors are doing flux core for building skyscrapers etc now.

It could be done with solid wire, but the flux core actually gets better penetration (thats what she said)....
because it runs hotter
and when yer doing stuff like caterpillar parts, you really really want all hte extra beef you can get. (she said that too...)

Personally I'll take stick over flux core, but then I do repair work, not new stuff. The shop i work at does all heavy equipment with stick.

We used these things in work as everything was bloody hot, sometimes dull glow hot, shiny suit helped too
