Say...is anyone on this board a friction materials guy? You know, clutches, CCC and such things?

Not really, but what were you interested in?

Oh, the usual...Just wondering about how the static / dynamic coefficient of friction might vary across a temperature range of roughly 400*C, with a CCC or CCM on metallic opposing surface, or maybe if someone would happen to have slapped that up onto a X & Y for easy reading. Or for that matter, any other friendly hi-temp frictional composite.

Thought maybe some guy from GKN or ABS or General Dynamics might hang out here.

You are not asking much, are you? Email them and ask directly. Your local University may be able to help you.

            Hey Dave,

I might be an "expert" on friction. My wife says that everytime she and I try to "discuss" something, I develope a lot of friction.

            Regards.......Rodg

Yeah, I too have been told I rubbed my ex-bosses the "wrong" way.

Who was it that said "tis better to have been rubbed than not rubbed at all"? - oh, yeah - PeeWee Herman...
