currently only 9.99! I'm not sure what a "home" shop machinist could do with this, patio maybe?

Maybe we could make a group buy (like the MTR Book) and cut it up into smaller pieces for each of us. ... OK, who wants to take the lead role on this one? Ken? Thrud? Oscar? Anyone? (I would, but I'm gonna be busy that day, 'er week ...'er month)

Cut it down to 5 x 10, fill the holes, and make a righteous pool table out of it. Nobody would be dropping a ball by bumping this table with his hip.

I would hate to pay shipping and handling on 30 tons by mail...

6' x 12'? that's a little one... while working for FMC in the mid 80's I did software development for a custom CMM (coordinate measuring machine) we built with an envelope of 2' x 25' or so; this was designed to inspect Vertical Launch System cannisters before delivery to the Navy... in case the fancy robot didn't work, we had a 8' x 30' x 2' thick (dimensions from memory) chunk of granite ready
for the guys to use for inspecting by hand right behind the CMM. I only ever used that block to cool down; it was a wonderful place to lie down after getting too hot in the Aberdeen SD during lunch.

I was at an auction a couple of months ago, where a yuppie type bought a black granite plate about that size for $500.00 to make a kitchen counter out of.

Hmmmm. $9.99 and only thirty miles away. How would I explain this one when I got it to the shop?

It would make one hell of a head stone - "it fell on his head and killed him".
