DRO for mill recommendation?

I've had 2 touchDRO installs and they're fantastic to operate, especially compared to anything out of China. I especially like the tool table and work offset capability.

Is that complicated to use?
I watched Blondihacks install hers but she's miles ahead of me with computer and electronic experience.

Not sure Touch DRO is any cheaper when adding a tablet. Looks like $129 for the plug and play interface.

Yes, Mark Presling did a cost comparison. Might be different in Australia, but it came ouy about the same either way. TouchDRO probably won't save you any money, unless you already have a tablet in search of a job.

A touch screen might be nice, though. The buttons on my Chinese DRO are a bit stiff. I thought I built a fairly rigid mount, but I usually support the back of the unit with my fingers and press the buttons with my thumb, at least the ones I can reach that way.

So again, do these Touch DRO's require any circuit assembly or software programming, etc.?
My only experience with DRO's is the Teledyne Gurley Pathfinder on my mill.

I went with a Sino scales Ditron would be good to then used a LCD display. I should have bought a kit setup that way to make shire they are wired correctly had to rewire them. China has 4 or 5 different wiring diagrams they use.
