      Grinders.....

      Quasi;
Try KBC as suggested, or Busy Bee or House of Tools ((kinda lame service (IMHO), Evan dislikes them...)).

I would like to have one of those myself but Busy Bee doesn't have them. I can't find it at KBC either. House '0 Fools doesn't seem to have it either. It may be that HF has commisioned this design for exclusive sale by them.

If Grizzly makes them then Busy Bee can get them.
Be prepared for sticker shock though.
Anything Busy Bee brings in from Grizzly is way expensive.

I can't find it in Canada either, the weight is low enough to ship by UPS or FEDEX, it would probably be 100$ for shipping or so, not including brokerage fees. This makes it much less a good value.

KBC does sell it. You have to look under "Bench Grinders".

Page 910 of the catalog, item 2-008-001. Pretty much the identical item (from it's looks) to the Harbor Freight.

              Price $514.27 (ouch!).

Gary, I actually never noticed that in the KBC catalogue either. I don't ever remember seeing one of them in their sales flyer either. Geez...imagine that!
So how much does HF want for one?
I don't see a price on the link.

Whoa! That just put KBC in the ridiculous class then.

KBC 's prices on machine's and a lot of tools are nuts. I equipted my Bridgeport mill with power feeds from ebay on the x,y, and z axis with the same powerfeeds that KBC sells. My total for all 3 including shipping was less than what KBC wants for an x axis feed alone. If I had bought them at KBC, I would have payed almost 4 TIMES as much.

Look how much KBC wants for a 6" kurt vise, and then you have to pay to ship it!

Harbor Freight sells it on sale frequently for $119.00. That's how much I gave for mine. Good grinder for the price.

Yup, KBC prices are kinda out there. I find their sale prices (never pay regular price) aren't too bad. For machinery, I tend to look at KBC but buy at Busy Bee or used or whatever.

For the Harbor Freight price on that grinder, it would be worth it for me to take a road trip to Buffalo (about two hour drive, $15 bucks in gas - small car).

I just found it in a Travers tools catalog, with a phone us for price listing. I phoned their Canadian office, (sounded like Quebec by the accents). They have no stock and can't get any more.
