  • Heck of a lathe for cheap near Columbus, Ohio

1950's -ish Monarch lathe 14x48 3 phase. Comes with a 10hp rotary phase converter (unless you give that part to me), 6 and 3 jaw chucks, coolant reservoir, Kennametal tooling with inserts and a bunch of other odds and ends.

Per the current owner, the lathe came out of a mold making type shop where it cut graphite mostly. Of course he says its in tight shape.

I have 2 pictures with more to come.

    Price is $2500

    More details.

Its a guy that started his own machine shop and is closing down. He has some tooling for a BP mill, but not the mill anymore that he will throw in.

He has lowerd the price to $2300.

If I find a buyer, i will profit in that I want the drill press he is selling plus a few things that go with it. Do itsa a kinda dibs thing.

So basically, its give him 2300 and come take what you want except the drill press and 2 vices that I want.

I can't move it or store it but I'll ask anyway - where's it at, when can I take a look?

I guess cheap is a matter of perspective. Alot of people on this forum don't have $2300.00 invested in their whole shop.

Not really as the low price is in relation to market values and has little to do with "perspective" if it truly is cheap

              Lathe near Sunbury

Is this lathe, perhaps from the former Klein Manufacturing Building on Sunbury Road?

Klein shut down earlier this summer and sold everything at auction. The whole place was covered in black dust/grime.
