  • Mystery Metal?

My friend gave me a chunk of metal and it had 17-4 with a question mark on it, i used it yesterday and its been along time since i turned down some 17-4 and all the stuff i did turn down was H-900, thing is is this stuff behaved more like 304, long stringy strands that wont break off for nothing and are very sharp, my question to you guys, does non hardened 17-4 behave this way?

    15-5 does,it's possible that 17-4 will too.
I just need one more tool, just one!

15-5 and 17-4 both have the same machinablity (only 48%) in their annealed state.

I guess its the nickel in these materials that make them so stringy and resilient?
