Where can I locate a book or manual on the general operating of a FANUC controller?
Are there training manuals out there?

Which one? When you speak of manuals in connection to CNC controls you might be talking about 5 feet of books.

In 1992, we received for installation a machine having a Fanuc 11M controller. one big crate contained the three sets of books that came with it. Almost 300 lb of paper and 3/4 of them were devoted to the control, training to use it, and the axis and spindle drives and tool changer connected to the control.

    Here's a website:

I had no idea there was so much.
I have never worked on a large full size CNC machine only manual and desktop CNC tools. I do have experience with GCODE.
Im thinking about getting a CNC lathe and would like to get a head start on familiarizing myself with the general operation of the control so I can at least be able to identify what all the buttons on the front control are and get it fired up, jog, load programs, test run, set the tools, etc...
