  • Cheap Lathe Cover

Aldi stores had a special on 4 burner hooded barbeques and also covers for them. The covers are made of heavy Vynil with a sort of cotton backing. $20.00 AUD. Going to keep an eye on any Sweating problems as Vynil doesn't breath. Thought it might be good to cover the lathe when using the grinder or cutting/sanding MDF wood nearby.

Mightn't suit all climates humidity etc.

    Pretty slick cover,

Don't know the weather/enviromental conditions where you are at, but an incandescent bulb left on under the cover (in the machine stand?) might just give enough heat to keep condensation away from the machine. I have used 40/60/100 watt bulbs (as heaters) to keep the "rusties" at bay, from some of my smaller machines.
Today I will gladly share my experience and advice, for there no sweeter words than "I told you so."

Like to use a cotton drop cloth use for painting and keep everything well oiled.
