  • A couple of vise questions??

Might sound dumb...but are we supposed to oil our vise on the top where the jaw slides?
I'm sort of thinking not....because there are no wipers etc.
I just don't want to bugger up my purdy new Kurt.
Also...are heavy milling vises supposed to have acme threads on the leadscrew?
I took my broken china vise apart today to use as part of my cutter grinder and was suprised to see the leadscrew was a 60 deg thread.
    Thanks!

Yes a little oil wont hurt .Keeps thinge from rusting. And yes KURT and kurt copies use a 60 degree thread , and they work.

Thanks Lane! I am a bit suprised to hear about the 60 deg thread. I thought they'd have an acme thread.
