Greetings group.
I need to take a few tenths off of a radius groove on a hardened steel shaft. What is the best way? I figured lapping. Would I turn a rod of brass to the diameter of the groove and use lapping compound, work in held in lathe running slow, brass rod held in groove?
Is there some sort of strip of material that is used with lapping compounds that is like plumbers sand paper for preping pipes for soldering.
Thanks folks!
